V. Ed McGuire III, born May 17,
1969, obtained a B.S. degree from
McNeese State University cum laude
in 1992 and J.D. degree from LSU
Law School in 1995. Upon graduation,
he became an Assistant District
Attorney with the Calcasieu Parish
District Attorney’s Office, practicing
as a criminal prosecutor and representing
the interests of children in
Child in Need of Care cases. He was
then in private practice before joining
the firm in 1998.
Ed is admitted to practice
before all state and federal district
courts of Louisiana, all state appellate
courts of Louisiana, and the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Fifth

Circuit. He is a member of the
American, Louisiana State, and
Southwest Louisiana Bar
Associations, and the Louisiana
Association of Defense Counsel.
Since joining the firm, Ed has
practiced insurance defense, worker’s
compensation defense, premises,
liability, products liability, all manner
of public entity defense, defended
law enforcement officers in civil litigation,
defended retribution suits,
and many forms of cases assenting a
defense of fraud in response to
selected claims. Ed’s experience with
criminal prosecution is particularly
useful in cases involving allegations
of fraud as a claim or a defense.
