Eric W. Roan, born November
2, 1967, obtained a B.S. degree in
Finance from Louisiana State
University and J.D. degree from LSU
Law School in 1993. Upon graduation,
he clerked with the 14th Judicial
District Court, being exposed to civil,
criminal and domestic litigation.
After his clerkship, Eric accepted
employment as an Assistant District
Attorney with the Calcasieu Parish
District Attorney’s office, practicing
as a criminal prosecutor. In 1998,
Eric left the District Attorney’s office
to pursue a private civil and criminal
practice before joining the firm in
2002.
Eric is admitted to practice
before all the State, District, and
Appellate Courts of Louisiana and

the U.S. District Courts for the
Western, Eastern, and Middle
Districts of Louisiana and the United
States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.
He is a member of the
American, Louisiana State, and
Southwest Louisiana Bar Association,
and the Louisiana Association of
Defense Counsel.
Since joining the firm, Eric has
practiced insurance defense litigation,
including civil rights suits
brought against law enforcement
agencies, automobile liability defense
litigation, commercial liability
defense litigation, trucking/transportation
defense litigation, toxic
exposure defense litigation and casualty
property defense litigation.
