Michael J. McNulty III, born July 30, 1951, received a B.A. degree cum laude from Tulane University in 1973 and a J.D. degree in 1976 from Tulane School of Law, receiving the Federal Bar Association Award.
After graduation, he practiced with Bauer, Darnall, McNulty & Boudreaux in Franklin, Louisiana from 1977 to 1980. He was City Prosecutor for the City of Franklin from 1977 to 1980. He was President of the St. Mary Bar Association in 1979. He joined the firm in 1980.
He is admitted to practice in all federal and state district and appellate courts in Louisiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Southwest Louisiana, Louisiana State, and American Bar Associations and the Defense Research Institute. He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, serving as a director in 1991.
He formerly served on the Worker’s Compensation Committee of the DRI and the Medical-Legal Interprofessional Committee, the Insurance Committee, and the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Louisiana State Bar Association. His is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He was named in 2008 as one of THE BEST LAWYERS IN AMERICA.
Mike McNulty has defended a broad range of cases. He has a special interest in and has defended successfully a number of fire cases involving suspected arson. He has conducted numerous seminars for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel on various aspects of insurance coverage. He frequently participates in case mediation and he has been certified as a mediator for disputes filed with the Mediation/ Arbitration Program of Arbitration Forum, Inc.
